She arrived in America in 1938. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. And in her spare time she created technology that would eventually be adopted by the US Navy. She avoided the limelight, a difficult task for what MGM called “The Most Beautiful Woman in The World”, and just wanted to help make the world a better place. Without her contributions to science and technology, we might not even have the wireless communications systems we have today.
